GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Reception Admissions

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will have to make and we warmly welcome tours of our school.

If your child was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022 then you can apply for a Reception place for September 2026 from Tuesday 4th November 2025.

The closing date for Reception applications is Thursday 15th January 2026.

Other key dates to note are:

National Offer Day - Thursday 16th April 2026

Deadline to accept/decline school places - Thursday 30th April 2026

Oversubscription criteria

School places will be offered to children at William Morris Primary School using the criteria laid out in our Admissions Policy below.

Children of Staff

Applicants who wish to be considered for priority admission for William Morris Primary School under the criterion of Children of Staff must complete the Supplementary Information  Form available in Appendix 1 of the School Admissions Policy, in addition to the local authority application form.

Late Applications

If you submit your application without a good reason after the deadline, your application will be treated as late. This may affect the possibility of your child being offered a place at one of your preferred schools. Please contact Oxfordshire County Council if you are likely to be unable to make an on-time application.

Waiting Lists

Where there are more children than places available, waiting lists will operate for each year group according to the oversubscription criteria without regard to the date the application was received or when a child’s name was added to the waiting list. Appeals

If you did not get the school place you wanted, your child will be placed on a waiting list and you may want to appeal to Oxford County Council. Further information is available at the link below:

Admission of children outside their normal year group

The Department for Education (DfE) expects pupils to be educated in their normal chronological year group however should you wish for your child to defer your child's entry to Reception or be admitted to a different year group please visit the refer to the School Admissions Policy for more information.

 

Transition into William Morris Primary School   

We recognise the importance getting transition right for your child, to help with that we offer a number approaches:

  • Welcome meetings.

  • The home visits is an informal opportunity to see your child in their familiar setting, home. Meet staff again and a chance to discuss any concerns. 

  • Pre-school visits to ensure a smooth hand over of any information between early years professionals 

  • Taster session (stay and play) at school to explore the classroom, meet teachers, support staff and new friends
