Virtual Reality comes to Longford!

There was much excitement this week for Darwin Class who travelled over to our sister school, Longford Park, to take part in a virtual reality activity.

The children were wowed by the immersive technology which really made them feel they were there and truly into the culture and traditions of the Aboriginal people and Australia. For those of you who have never experienced VR, it’s using a headset which is programmed to show video which surround the viewer. As the view moves their head around, the video changes with them, as though they are looking around them in reality. There are also headphones that complete the immersive experience and really makes the view feel like they are in the video.

The content of the activity was supporting out Arts part of the innovative STEAM curriculum, aided of course, by the Technology aspect! A super learning experience for everyone and thoroughly enjoyed.
