Why choose William Morris Primary School?

Nine reasons to choose William Morris Primary School...

William Morris Primary School has just received its Ofsted report – and across the board, the rating is outstanding. We are incredibly proud of this achievement, but this is just the start.

Having set the standard, we have every intention of living up to it, and here are nine reasons why we think William Morris Primary School might be the right choice for you and your child.

Dynamic

In just two years, the current school leadership team have transformed the school from being in special measures to one that Ofsted rated this year as outstanding in leadership, teaching quality, personal development, pupil outcomes, and early years provision.

Successful

This year, the school recorded its best-ever SATS results, with the number of pupils achieving expected standard in reading, writing and maths five percent above the national average.

Inclusive

Ofsted gave particular praise to the attention the school gives to disadvantaged pupils, and the subsequent benefit to their academic performance, and also how pupils with special educational needs are fully integrated into school life.

Supportive

William Morris Primary is part of the GLF Schools group, a Surrey-based trust which runs 30 schools across the south east of England, on a collaborative management basis between head teachers.

Aspirational

Ofsted inspectors called teaching at the school “calm, purposeful and precise”, enabling every child to achieve the best they possibly can in the classroom.

Inspirational

School leaders were praised for having “a huge ambition for pupils” and putting together “a high-quality, interesting curriculum has increased pupils’ progress throughout the school.”

Caring

Early years provision was described by Ofsted as “exceptionally well led, providing children with a calm, nurturing environment in which to develop their basic skills.”

Proud

Inspectors spoke of pupils being “taught to be responsible, communicative and compassionate. They are rightly proud of their school.”

Forward looking

William Morris Primary has already achieved great things and wants to do more. “Systems for checking progress against the school action plan are well established and ensure that the quality of education is always improving,” said inspectors.
