Part of the Glyn Academies Trust

Governance

William Morris Primary School is part of GLF Schools, a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) of 43 Primary and Secondary schools.  The governance structure of the Trust had been developed to support both the culture of GLF Schools and the effective management of a large organisation. GLF Schools recognises the individuality of each school and that each school has its own distinct character and culture that is respectful of its community and context.

The Trust Board has overall responsibility for the school and has delegated the responsibility to implement and review the school's strategic plans to the School Standards Board (SSB) for William Morris Primary School.

The SSB has the following core responsibilities:

  • Strategic oversight of the education provision of the School
  • Strategic oversight of compliance of the School with Trust Policies
  • Supporting the Trust Board to ensure good governance across the Trust

Community Member of SSB + Safeguarding link

I am the safeguarding governor for William Morris Primary School, and have been in post since February 2023. Promoting safeguarding is at the heart of my professional and working life; I am a Housemistress and teacher at a local boarding school, and in my spare time I am a trainer for OSCB, with a focus on Supporting LGBTQ+ Young People and their Families. I am constantly working to expand my knowledge, and draw upon my own experiences of working in education to support the William Morris community in any way I can.

My family and I have been part of the William Morris Community since we moved to the area in 2012 and my four children have all either been or are still pupils at the school. My background is in the creative arts and education and I bring this knowledge to the SSB as well as my experience as a parent. I have been a member of the SSB since 2018 and I have been proud to watch the school grow, blossom and flourish during this time.
